MSHRM 2027 Call For Nominations - President Elect, Treasurer, Secretary, Board Member

Nominations are due no later than (date)!

 

The newly elected directors and officers will take office effective January 1st and are expected to attend the January Board meeting in person on the date and time selected by the President Elect 2026.

 

  • Elected members of the Board of Directors are expected to read and adhere to the MSHRM Bylaws and Code of Ethics
  • Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings.  Any member of the Board of Directors who is absent from two successive meetings of the board without good cause, in the view of the chairman of the board of directors, shall have his appointment terminated and his seat declared vacant to be filled in accordance with the provisions of these Bylaws.

 

President Elect:

 

  • The President Elect shall serve for three years as President Elect 2027, President 2028, and Past President 2029.
  • The President- Elect is responsible for:
    • Chairing the Education/Programs committee
    • Attending monthly Board Meetings and at all annual and special meetings of the Society.
    • Planning the Fall Conference and as President will plan the Spring conference while teaching the new president elect.
    • The President-Elect shall perform the duties of the office of the President whenever the President shall be unable to do so.
  • The President of the Society shall:
    • Act as chairperson of the Board of Directors and shall preside at all meetings of the Board, and at all annual and special meetings of the Society.
    • No less than annually, the President shall submit a report, to the Board of Directors and membership of the Society. The report shall include a summary of reports from the Treasurer and chairpersons of all standing and ad hoc committees. (This is done at the spring conference).
  • The President and President Elect are required to serve as members of the NESHRM Steering Committee (2-year commitment).
  • The Past President:
    • Serves as the Chair of the Nominating Committee.
    • Serves as a non-voting member of the Board, except in event of a tie as per Bylaws.

 

Treasurer: 

  • The Treasurer shall serve for three years.
  • The Treasurer shall attend all meetings of the Society and of the Board of Directors.
  • Responsible for maintaining the financial records of the organization including banking and investment accounts.
  • Provides an annual report to the Board of Directors and membership of the Society.
  • Banking and other investment accounts of the Society shall be maintained by the Treasurer. Transactions on these accounts shall be authorized by the President or Treasurer.

 

 

Secretary:

  • The Secretary shall serve for two years.
  • The Secretary shall attend all meetings of the Society and of the Board of Directors and maintain the official minutes and records of the Society.

 

Board Members:

  • Board members shall attend all meetings of the Society and of the Board of Directors.
  • Chair one MSHRM Committee as decided by the Board or assigned by the President at the January Board Meeting.
  • Serve as an active member of the Programs/Education Committee
    • Actively assist and participate with identifying speakers for conferences and gathering information from speakers as requested by the Chair of the committee.
    • Obtain 3 objectives and the Bio of any speaker you coordinate/recommend and submit the information to the President/President elect planning the conference.
    • Attend the annual spring and fall education conference and assist with conference duties as assigned by the President/President elect.
